Krista Knouff's transition class at Springdale High School, in partnership with the Arkansas Support Network, has been making dog toys for animal shelters in Springdale and Rogers. Traditionally the transition class works in the community but because of COVID, students have been accepting jobs that can be done in the classroom. If you have jobs that can be done by students in a classroom, please contact Krista Knouff at kknouff@sdale.org. #THEChoice.

Attention Parents: This is the final week for spring sports registration. Please see the following flyers for more information!

Lee Elementary teachers enjoyed lunch courtesy of Arvest Bank as a result of Arkansas Teacher of the Year Joel Lookadoo's request for "I Love Teaching Week." The lunch had to be postponed until Monday because of last week's weather. Jacob Barnes of Arvest delivered the box lunches to Lee principal Justin Swope. Swope also gave Lookadoo and Andy Sullivan, Director of Education Efficiency for the Arkansas Department of Education, a tour of the school. Great partnerships help make Springdale Public Schools #THEChoice.

Andy Sullivan, Director of Education Effectiveness in the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (Arkansas Department of Education), visited Childers Knapp Elementary after being invited by Arkansas Teacher of the Year Joel Lookadoo. Escorted by principal Cindy Covington and Lookadoo, Sullivan visited several classrooms, including EAST where facilitator Abbie Russell shared her students' projects for the year and fifth grade students made the presentation they would make virtually at this year's EAST conference. Sullivan was originally scheduled to be in the district last week for "I Love Teaching Week" but was prevented by the snow that covered nearly all of Arkansas. Sullivan was impressed by teachers, students and administrative staff that help make Springdale Public Schools #THEChoice.
