Westwood Elementary School hosted a celebratory event to honor the outstanding achievements of its first-grade students. The event marks the successful conclusion of the High Impact Tutoring (HIT) Grant cycle. The HIT Grant has empowered Westwood Elementary to provide essential daytime tutoring services for students, enabling them to excel academically. In collaboration with the University of Arkansas, Westwood Elementary embarked on a transformative journey to implement the HIT Grant effectively. Representatives from DESE and Really Great Reading attended the celebration; the Really Great Reading representatives generously provided books to all students who participated in the program, further fostering a love for learning. This event offers a compelling narrative of collaboration, dedication, and student triumph, underscoring the transformative impact of educational initiatives supported by community partnerships. #SpringdaleFamily

Don Tyson school of innovation continues to make national impact! Avanti came to Don Tyson to film up to 20 teachers in the classroom and interview them about the instructional strategies they use. Don Tyson is being showcased because of their High Reliability School certification and the instructional content been adding to their website : Avanti is being designed by educators, for educators and will have thousands of videos at the individual strategy level, complete with three takeaway reproducibles designed to help teachers grow and learn in an online community.
