Miss Springdale of 1967 was crowned Oct. 24 in a surprise event in the Springdale High School Bulldog Rotunda. “I’m just blown away,” said Judi Cox, of Bentonville. “It seemed like a hundred years ago to me.” Cox, 73, graduated from Springdale High School in 1967, the same year she was first crowned Miss Springdale High School. https://www.smore.com/4qnb9

On Friday October 21st, students from across Northwest Arkansas came together to celebrate White Cane Awareness Day. White Cane Awareness Day is a national observance that is celebrated annually on October 15th. This date is set aside to celebrate achievements of people who are blind or visually impaired and the important symbol of blindness and a tool of independence, the white cane. Students in Northwest Arkansas were superheros for the day and participated in a variety of activities that were all themed. Students were able to participate in tandem bike riding, slime making, exploring a police car and completed an obstacle course.

Walmart and Kellogg’s today presented the Don Tyson School of Innovation cross-country and track programs with a $25,000 grant! The grant may be used to create a running path for students so they don’t have to training along Hylton Road and Don Tyson Parkway. #SpringdaleFamily

Springdale Schools interviewed five Don Tyson School of Innovation students today for paid instructional assistant intern positions in our elementary schools. The students had to apply, create a resume and participate in an interview with a panel of principals. #SpringdaleFamily
