On Friday October 21st, students from across Northwest Arkansas came together to celebrate White Cane Awareness Day. White Cane Awareness Day is a national observance that is celebrated annually on October 15th. This date is set aside to celebrate achievements of people who are blind or visually impaired and the important symbol of blindness and a tool of independence, the white cane.
Students in Northwest Arkansas were superheros for the day and participated in a variety of activities that were all themed. Students were able to participate in tandem bike riding, slime making, exploring a police car and completed an obstacle course.
