In 2015, the Springdale Athletic Foundation, Springdale Athletics, and the Springdale School District began The Wall of Honor at Jarrell Williams Bulldog Stadium to honor those who have made significant contributions to Springdale Athletics and the Springdale School District. Thank you to Coach Phillip Sanders and Coach Bob Johnson for their service and the lasting impact they have had on our community. Coach Phillip Sanders joined the Springdale Bulldog family in 1965 as Head Basketball Coach and Assistant Football and Track Coach at Springdale Junior High. Four years later, he moved to Springdale High where he served as the Head Basketball Coach and Assistant Football Coach. He was responsible for starting the first Tennis team at SHS in 1968. Coach Sanders moved to Southwest Junior High as Principal in 1969, where he served the students and families of Southwest for two years. He returned to SHS in 1971, serving as the Head Basketball Coach, Assistant Football Coach, and Assistant Principal for seven years. Coach Sanders finished his career in 1997, retiring after more than 30 years in education. He and wife, Wanda, have one daughter, Tammy Morrison and husband Larry, and one grandson. Coach Johnson graduated from SHS in 1956. He was a letterman in Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Track. He earned many honors as a Bulldog including playing in the first Football All-Star game! He attended College of the Ozarks where was a highly decorated athlete. Coach Johnson was member of Coach Jarrell Williams’s first staff, coaching the backfield for two state championships at SHS. He spent ten years as coach in Springdale at both the Junior High and Senior High levels. Coach Johnson and wife, Anita, have three children, Karen Boyd, Kyle Johnson, and Lecia Paonessa. Joining them is Coach Jarrell Williams, Coach Kerry Winberry, Coach Charles Smith, Superintendent Dr. Jared Cleveland, Director of Athletics Wayne Stehlik, Asst. Athletic Director Betsy Barker, and SHS Principal Jason Jones.

United Federal Credit Union surprised Lauren McGrath with a Teacher Appreciation Award at Monitor Elementary. McGrath received a check of $500 to use on her classroom. Congratulations! Thank you United Federal Credit Union for supporting the #SpringdaleFamily

Students from Don Tyson SOI industrial maintenance toured the Walton Art Center and learned how the skills they are learning can be applied production and Audio/Video! These kind of partnerships and crossover skill building only happens in the #SpringdaleFamily
